Mr. Manucharyan opened the 2006–2007 season of the Minnesota Opera as Rodrigo in Rossini’s La donna del lago His 2005–2006 season included a role debut as Riccardo in Maria di Rohan by Donizetti at the Wexford Festival, followed by the tenor solo in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem with the Boston Cantata Singers, Rodolfo in La bohème in Salerno, Gerald in Lakmé with the Opera Orchestra of New York at Carnegie Hall, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni at the New York City Opera, and Argirio in Rossini’s Tancredi at the Caramoor Festival.

Other notable performances have included Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis with the New York Choral Society at Carnegie Hall and with the Eugene Symphony, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Dvoøak Stabat Mater with the Masterworks Chorale, and Lukas Foss’s Griffelkin with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project. He was tenor soloist in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and was guest soloist in a gala concert in Boston celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the birth of composer Aram Khachaturian.
A native of Yerevan, Armenia, Mr. Manucharyan was engaged in 1995 by the Armenian National Opera as a principal artist and sang leading roles including Belmonte in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Cassio in Otello, Count Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Don Ramiro in La cenerentola, Beppe/Arlecchino in I pagliacci, and Saro in Anoush. As featured soloist with the State Philharmonic Orchestra from 1995 to 1998, Mr. Manucharyan performed in repertoire including Verdi's Messa da Requiem, Bruckner's Te Deum, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, and Berlioz’s Requiem.
Yegishe Manucharyan graduated from the Tchaikovsky Central Music School in 1988, earning a Bachelor of Music in French Horn Performance. He continued his studies at the Komitas State Conservatory, where he earned a Master of Music in French Horn Performance (1993) and in Vocal Performance (1995).
